Parallel Slide Gate Valves

The parallel slide gate valves are designed with a positional seal, using the line pressure as a sealing force. The compressed spring between the two closure members provides an initial seal during low-pressure conditions. The increasing line pressure will push the closure members with higher forces against each other which creates the primary seal. The higher the medium pressure, the better the sealing performance. Therefore, this valve type is widely used in high pressure and high temperature services such as steam and feedwater.

Application:

This valve type is widely used in high pressure and high-temperature services such as steam and feedwater.

Advantages:

There are many advantages to using parallel slide gate valves instead of wedge gate valves, such as:

-Parallel Slide Gate Valves use system pressure and position to provide positive isolation

-The spring is fitted between disc to provide initial searing force, and do not maintain sealing force.

-Parallel slide gate valves require smaller operative forces.

-Seal is established on the outlet seat face only.
